Whatcom Unified Command (WUC) invited Lighthouse Mission Ministries to help staff their COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine Housing on Byron Avenue in Bellingham: Lighthouse Mission Ministries wholeheartedly agreed.
Your Gifts of Charity are Making an Impact
This facility is for anyone in the community who doesn’t have a safe place to self-isolate or cannot be in quarantine at their home.
Working alongside SeaMar Community Health Center’s GRACE team, Lighthouse Mission Ministries will offer 24/7 support services to clients while maintaining appropriate social distance practices.

The Lighthouse Mission Ministry staff will welcome and assist guests, deliver meals, promote social distancing, hygiene and sanitation, and being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. That’s because this is where Jesus is – on the front lines, with those who are sick, hurting, and in need of help.
At Lighthouse Mission Ministries, we want to ensure that people have a safe place to isolate and recover and believe this facility will benefit the health of Whatcom County as a whole. For example, if someone staying at the Drop-In Center is awaiting test results or has tested positive for COVID-19, they would quarantine to this new facility, thus greatly reducing the chance of infecting others at the Drop-In Center and around our community.
Hans Erchinger-Davis, Lighthouse Mission Ministries Executive Director said, “We are grateful for this opportunity to serve our broader community. Bellingham needed a place for people to isolate or quarantine and we are happy to help bridge that gap and share God’s love with those we encounter along the way.”
Thank you for your support! This isn’t work that can be done alone.
It’s because of you that our critical interventions in the midst of a global pandemic are making an impact. Those staying with us are safe. They are receiving the care and warm food that they need. All in the middle of a global crisis. We want nothing more than to see the most at risk of our community stay safe.
